RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a small wildfire did minor damage to several homes in Southern California but firefighters have stopped its progress.
The city of Rancho Cucamonga said in a statement that the fire that burned five to 10 acres Monday night is 50 percent contained. There are no evacuation orders in effect but roads were closed in the area.
The Rancho Cucamonga Fire Authority says the blaze broke out at about 5 p.m. and burned through brush and eucalyptus trees near the city's historic Sycamore Inn.
The fire did minor damage to several homes, but investigators did not yet know the exact number or the cause of the fire. No homes were destroyed.
