LOS ANGELES (AP) — Federal authorities say two murder suspects recently captured in Los Angeles County have been turned over to authorities in Mexico.
The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday (http://lat.ms/1rtSz24 ) that 33-year-old Jose Adrian Mendoza Del Muro has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a shooting in the Mexican state of Zacatecas. The Mexican national was arrested at his home in South Gate in May.
In a separate case, 44-year-old Luis Fernando Quintero-Heras, also a Mexican national, is wanted in a 2000 slaying in the state of Sinaloa.
He was arrested by U.S. agents at his home in Pacoima.
Both men were granted voluntary departures by an immigration judge.
They transferred to the custody of Mexican law enforcement authorities at a border crossing in the San Diego area.
