Man found dead after 10 days in California lake

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Ten days after he was seen struggling in the water, a 22-year-old man has been found dead in a Santa Barbara County Lake.

A sheriff's statement says someone in a rented pontoon boat on Cachuma Lake saw what appeared to be a body Monday and called 911.

Park rangers, deputies and coroner's investigators responded and confirmed that the dead man was Isaiah Sanchez of El Rio in Ventura County.

On July 11, Sanchez was trying to swim to shore from a broken-down boat when he was last seen.

Another man with him was rescued, but after divers searched the area with water 80 feet deep the search for Sanchez was eventually suspended. He was found within 100 yards of the spot where he was last seen.
