LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says a domestic dispute suspect who opened fire on deputies was shot and wounded.
A sheriff's statement says two deputies responded to reports of shots fired at a home in Lancaster on Sunday afternoon, and when they arrived, the suspect shot at them several times but did not hit anyone.
The deputies returned fire, and the suspect was hit once and taken to a hospital. He's expected to survive.
The statement says the suspect also fired the weapon during the dispute that first brought the deputies to the home, but no one was injured.
Sheriff's detectives are investigating the shooting.
The names of the suspect and deputies have not been released.
