COTO DE CAZA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a driver was killed when his car hit a curb, went airborne and slammed into a house in the exclusive Coto de Caza area familiar to reality TV show viewers as the home of "The Real Housewives of Orange County."
City News Service says 22-year-old Franz Nalezny died at the scene Friday night. He was a student at California State University, Fullerton who lived in the gated community in southern Orange County.
Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority says Nalezny was trapped inside the Mazda S hatchback and firefighters had to use a crane to remove the body.
Three people inside the house — a mother and her two children — were not hurt. The house suffered minimal damage.
