Body found in backyard of missing Nevada woman

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County sheriff's deputies say somebody did such a good job of wrapping up Colleen Muhl's body that police cadaver dogs couldn't find her grave the first two times they searched her backyard in Spanish Springs.

Her husband, 51-year-old Gerald Muhl, committed suicide on March 3, the day after detectives began questioning him about his wife's disappearance.

Deputies found human remains buried in the couple's backyard on Wednesday and are trying to determine if they belong to the missing woman.

Sheriff's Lt. Tom Green says they got a tip that Gerald Muhl had been moving rocks in his backyard after his 56-year-old wife last was seen Feb. 17.

Green says the body was not in a typical shallow grave. It was wrapped in what he described as a "sophisticated burial."
