SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Mike Morse thinks a return to health will help him return to the form that made him one of the top hitters in the National League in 2011. All it took was a little guidance from friends.
Morse, signed by the San Francisco Giants to play left field, said he has no restrictions following surgery to shave a bone spur in his left wrist last October, a condition that was discovered in a visit to the Mayo Clinic and orthopedic surgeon Richard Berger in Minnesota.
Former Washington Nationals teammate Jayson Werth, who underwent surgery to repair a split tear of the ligament by Dr. Berger, directed Morse to the Mayo Clinic.
Former teammate Mark DeRosa directed Morse toward the Giants.
