Thousands of people lined the streets of South LA for the event, which featured dancers, singers and honor guards.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — Santa Monica police have arrested a homeless man on suspicion of setting at least 10 fires that damaged three apartment buildings. Police yesterday announced the Dec. 9 arrest of 54-year-old Balbinder Sihota. He remains jailed. Authorities believe that Singh set fires in trash bins and lit discarded Christmas trees during a 10-day period that began on Dec. 30.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Police have arrested a woman for an Orange County nightclub attack that left another woman on life support. The Orange County Register says Santa Ana police arrested a woman in her 20s yesterday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Her name wasn't released. Police are looking for two men and two women. Investigators are reviewing surveillance and cellphone videos.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say two people have died in a shooting in Koreatown. Officer Sara Faden tells City News Service that the attack was reported shortly before 2 yesterday morning. Two men found at the scene were pronounced dead at hospitals. Police were looking for two people who were seen running from the scene.
