MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. (AP) — Sage Kotsenburg won the final Olympic slopestyle qualifier Saturday and earned a spot on the U.S. team heading to Sochi.
The 20-year-old from Park City, Utah scored a 95.4.
By adding this first-place finish to a pair of seconds earlier in the qualifying process, Kotsenburg guaranteed himself a trip to Sochi, where slopestyle makes its Olympic debut.
Shaun White had already qualified for the slopestyle team, so he did not compete. White is expected to ride Sunday in the halfpipe contest, where he still needs a top result to guarantee himself a chance at winning a third straight gold medal.
Jamie Anderson won the women's contest, making it 3-for-3 this week in Mammoth. She had already secured her Olympic spot.
