GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — Large lizards alert.
Sibling Komodo (kuh-MOH'-doh) dragons named Diablo and Murphy will go on exhibit Saturday at Moody Gardens in Galveston.
The Galveston County Daily County (http://bit.ly/1aYGIni ) reported Thursday that the 3-year-old Komodo dragons will be featured at the Rainforest Pyramid.
The animals were born at the Los Angeles Zoo and arrived at Moody Gardens when they were about 4 months old. Biologists have been training the rare reptiles ever since then.
Diablo, who's male, weighs about 55 pounds and is more than 5-feet long. Moody Gardens spokeswoman Jerri Hamachek says Murphy, who's female, is slightly smaller.
Experts say the Komodo dragon is the largest living lizard and can grow to a length of more than 11 feet.
