SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Jared Brownridge scored a career-high 29 points, including seven in overtime as Santa Clara defeated Loyola-Marymount 86-81 Saturday night.
Brownridge's 3-pointer sparked a 7-0 run to give Santa Clara a 77-70 lead with 2:50 to play in overtime. Brownridge was 4 of 11 from 3-point range. His 50 3-pointers this season surpasses Steve Nash for fifth all-time for freshmen at Santa Clara.
Brandon Clark added 26 points, including seven from the line in overtime for Santa Clara (9-8, 2-2 West Coast Conference).
Anthony Ireland scored a career-high 34 points, including 10 in overtime to lead Loyola-Marymount (10-6, 2-2). He scored 17 in the second half, and his jumper with 12 seconds to play in regulation tied the game at 70.
LMU's Gabe Levin blocked Evan Roquemore's jumper at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
